I have already decided I won’t get the dsi because I’ve heard it’s too fragile for my 8 year old. So what is the difference between the ds and ds lite? Which is better? Also do they all play the same games or does each system use a different line of games.
Thanks everyone…

the DS lite is smaller and sleeker but slightly more durable than the DS, the lite has a much brighter screen over all and it has adjustable screen brightness, the lite has a longer battery life for less charge time, they both play the same games and are backwards compatable. Basicaly, get the lite.
same games and the lite ones lighter with brighter screen
lighter, brighter, wireless hookup (better one) and eventually a camera.
excuse me uve heard from who like a dumb ass. okay a dsi wieghs the say a a ds lite the dsi just has more fetures the ds is big and chunky and ur 8yr old wont be able to hold most liky. there u go som one who knows what there talking about
There really isn’t much of a difference between the two. I personally like the ds lite better because it is prettier.
lite is slimmer as well
marketing ploy to make people buy something they already have with a few new features.
Nintendo Ds:
* Bigger in all dimensions except screen size
* Just To darn big
* Ugly
Nintendo Ds lite:
*Thinner
* Easier to Hold
*Bigger Screen
The nintendo ds is basically this big bulky version with the same games as the ds lite. Personally I prefer the Lite because it comes in different colors, but the Nintendo Ds is a bit sturdier I guess.

DS and DS lite are the same thing the only real difference is the size. DS was the original and DS lite they made after.. The DS lite is slimer and lighter… general better that the original DS. They do play the same games, Nintendo DS Games and Gameboy Games.
