How do I cite a quote from a book when the quote is in the essay of one of my sources?

I want to use a quote that the author of one of my sources for my paper used, but my question is whether I need to cite the book or the essay that I found the quote in. Does this make sense? I’ve looked all over the internet for the answer, but I can’t find it.

Thanks.

In MLA format if you are citing from a book you would put: (Author’s Name and page number).
If it is an essay from the internet or whatnot you would put part of the title of the web page.
