What are these separate school programs for the visually/hearing impaired students?

It’s never come across my mind before, which makes me pretty ignorant…
But I suddenly realized that I have never met any blind or mute or deaf students in my school.
What kinds of schools are available for these students? Or do they have to be homeschooled?
Can anyone give give me more details as in the classes, the schedule, the teacher qualifications, etc. that students of these school programs face?

Thanks.
Also, are these programs/schools free?

Some public school districts have special education programs for these types of students. Many cities have entirely separate schools that aren’t affiliated with the school district for blind/deaf students as well. I’m sure some are home schooled too, especially if there isn’t a different program nearby.
